YouTube Create, Google’s standalone mobile app designed for creators, is now expanding to more markets after its beta launch last fall. Initially only available in the U.S. on Android, the app is now accessible in over a dozen countries, including Brazil, Spain, Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong.
With this expansion, Create is now available in a total of 21 countries.
Create aims to provide video creators with easy-to-use tools to make videos on the go. The app, introduced at YouTube’s Create event last September, addresses challenges such as video editing and creative features like stickers, GIFs, and effects. It also competes with TikTok, offering similar creative tools and filters for non-technical creators.
Users can upload clips, trim videos, apply effects, and access royalty-free music with Create. The app also features copyright-safe music that syncs beats to video clips, similar to TikTok.
Another tool, Audio Cleanup, uses a denoising model to improve audio quality by reducing background noise from smartphone-recorded clips.
A built-in voiceover tool with automatic captions and various text styling options is also available.
Once edits are finalized, users can easily publish their videos to YouTube with a single tap.
Create is tailored for YouTube creators, aiming to attract more users who prefer dedicated tools for video editing. The app caters to creators who turn to separate tools like CapCut for TikTok videos despite TikTok’s built-in effects library.
Starting today, Create is now accessible in new markets including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, and Turkey. It was initially launched in the U.S., Germany, France, U.K., India, Indonesia, South Korea, and Singapore.
