During the latest XDebrief event, Ubisoft announced exciting updates for its competitive shooter game XDefiant, including a new faction inspired by Far Cry New Dawn, private matches, and more.
With each new season of XDefiant in its first year, a new faction will be introduced. The latest addition is the Highwaymen, based on the enemies from Far Cry: New Dawn. The Highwaymen bring three unique abilities to the game, including an M79 grenade launcher, an automatic Scrap Turret, and the Saw Launcher as their Ultra ability. Players can expect a fast-paced and aggressive playstyle with this faction.
In addition to the Highwaymen faction, Season 2 will introduce a new battle pass and three new weapons: the PP-19 submachine gun, the L86 LSW light machine gun, and the SPAS-12 shotgun. The Bomb mode will also be added to casual playlists, with plans to incorporate player feedback into Ranked mode.
Private matches will make their debut in Beta form, allowing players to create custom games with their friends. New maps such as Signal and Air & Space will join the lineup, increasing the total map count to 20.
XDefiant is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Season 2 kicks off on September 24, with PC players getting early access to new content on September 20.
