Ubisoft is gearing up for the launch of Season 1 of its new multiplayer shooter and Call of Duty competitor, XDefiant, which kicks off tomorrow. In a detailed video, Ubisoft provides players with an overview of what to expect from this upcoming season.
Each season of XDefiant will be accompanied by an XDebrief video, offering insights into the upcoming content. The first season introduces the GSK faction inspired by Rainbow Six Siege, focusing on defensive gameplay tactics. They wield various tools like shock wire, an active defense system, a flash shield, and ballistic helmets to fend off opponents.
Additionally, three new weapons will be added to XDefiant through the free battle pass: the LVOA-C assault rifle, the L115 sniper rifle, and the Sawed-Off Shotgun. Ranked Mode will also debut, featuring four different game modes and a ranking system from Bronze to Legends. Top 500 players will receive special rewards at the end of the season.
Players will have a seven-day “Ranked Practice” period at the start of Season 1 before diving into competitive gameplay. New maps like Clubhouse, Daytona, and Rockefeller will be introduced throughout the season. Ubisoft also hinted at upcoming features like a Prestige system, more weapon camos, keyboard and mouse support on consoles, Private Matches, a kill cam, and a Search & Destroy mode.
XDefiant is a free-to-play game available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with Season 1 commencing on July 2.
