Xbox Live is currently experiencing a significant sign-in outage, preventing users from logging into their Xbox profiles to play games online.
Upon trying to sign into my Xbox Live account on my Xbox Series X, I encountered an error message prompting me to “try again later.” A quick visit to Twitter confirmed that many others were also facing the same issue. The official Xbox Support account tweeted, “We are aware that some users have been disconnected from Xbox Live. We’re investigating! Please follow here and on our status page for updates.”
Checking Microsoft’s Xbox Live status support page provides more information about the outage. The outage is affecting Account & Profile features specifically on PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and cloud gaming on iOS and Android. The website states, “You may encounter sign-in issues, disconnections while signed in, or other related problems. Features dependent on sign-in, like most games, apps, and social activity, will not be available.”
Fortunately, Microsoft has acknowledged the issue as of 1:12 p.m. PT, indicating that a resolution may be on the way. This outage is particularly frustrating as it prevents players from signing in for many modern Xbox games. As a result, games like XDefiant are currently unplayable on Xbox due to the sign-in issues. We will provide updates on this situation as Microsoft works to resolve the Xbox Live outage.
