Apple introduced the third developer beta version of iOS 18 on Monday. While this update doesn’t include major new features like Apple Intelligence, it does come with some impressive design changes. The standout is the new UI for the flashlight.
Previously, Apple had introduced a new way to control True Tone Flashlights on Pro iPhone 14 and 15 models. In the initial beta, users had to deal with controls represented by vertical and horizontal lines, which took some time to adjust to. However, with the iOS 18 developer beta 3, Apple has refined the feature and design, making it more user-friendly. The new design now features a curved line to indicate both the width of the beam and brightness levels, with a dotted curved line at the top to show the peak intensity mark.
While this may seem like a small change, it adds a fun twist to the design and enhances the usability of the flashlight.
Apart from the flashlight improvements, the third developer beta also brings a design change where third-party apps’ icons are automatically converted to a darker shade. Previously, only Apple’s native apps had dark-tinted icons.
Additionally, Apple has introduced a new dynamic wallpaper that changes colors based on the time of the day.
