Techland’s game developers have a surprise for fans of Dying Light 2: Stay Human. To celebrate the game’s second anniversary, they are introducing firearms – the most requested feature since the game’s launch in 2022. Tymon SmektaĆa, Dying Light franchise director, discussed the decision to introduce firearms and announced that the new Reloaded Edition will provide players with the richest and most mature version of Dying Light 2: Stay Human to date. This free upgrade for standard edition owners includes all previous add-ons, the DLC Bloody Ties, and the new firearms update.
In addition to the firearms, the Reloaded Edition includes 200 new weapons, 20 new enemy variants, visual enhancements, community maps, and more. This improved edition will also feature higher quality textures, foliage, water reactions, zombie appearances, storytelling, and 50 new levels with five new skills.
To celebrate the second anniversary, Dying Light 2: Stay Human will be free on Steam from February 22 through February 26. Furthermore, Techland has committed to providing five years of post-launch support for the game.
The biggest addition is the introduction of firearms to the game, alongside new quests, survivor missions, and a new endgame progression system with 50 additional levels and new skills. The update also includes significant visual enhancements and the return of iconic characters from the first game, Tolga and Fatin.
Almost 1 million monthly active players have kept Dying Light 2 alive and Techland has ensured that the game’s longevity is guaranteed by continuous updates. The company has about 500 employees across two studios and is committed to fostering a collaborative and community-driven approach to game development.
Techland’s vision for Dying Light is to create a game that provides a thrilling and immersive experience, with an emphasis on community-driven and user-generated content. By giving players access to create and share their custom maps, Techland has created an environment that encourages collaboration and creativity within the gaming community. Additionally, the team has pledged to continue supporting Dying Light 2 for at least five years, ensuring that the game will continue to grow and evolve over time.
