Despite its tier 2 status, the 1win Series features some of the top Dota 2 teams in the world. It was no surprise to see Virtus.Pro, Team Spirit, Team Liquid, and Entity breeze through the group stage with ease.
VP hasn’t had many international opportunities in recent years due to limited slots available for EEU teams in tier 1 events. The slot usually goes to Team Spirit, winners of numerous qualifiers.
In today’s matches, Virtus.Pro finally got their revenge with some unconventional position picks that worked in their favor. Team Spirit’s experiments with Terrorblade in various roles backfired, especially in game 2 where VP’s Leshrac in position 4 dominated the core TB and offlane Dragon Knight.

Virtus.Pro’s dominant performance against Team Spirit is a rare sight, as they usually struggle against the TI champions. However, Team Spirit typically hits their stride later in the year, as indicated by Miposhka’s admission of being unprepared before DreamLeague season 22.
For now, Virtus.Pro can bask in their success heading into the grand finals of the 1win Series. A tough challenge awaits against Team Liquid or Entity, but VP appears to be in peak form at the moment.
