Exciting news for fans of 2022’s bullet hell hit Vampire Survivors: the game is getting a release date for its PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 port. This means it will soon be available on all current gaming platforms.
Vampire Survivors is set to launch on the two Sony consoles on August 29, and the store page is now live for those eager to wishlist it. Additionally, all DLC, including Legacy of the Moonspell, Tides of the Foscari, Emergency Meeting, and Operation Guns, will be available for purchase.
Initially only available on Steam in early access, Vampire Survivors officially launched in October 2022 and later became available on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, followed by Android and iOS. The Switch port arrived in 2023, with a version including two DLC packs titled Vampire Survivors+ being added to Apple Arcade recently.
The developers, Poncle, explained that the PlayStation port took longer due to their inexperience with the submission process. A post on X (formerly Twitter) mentioned, “This is the first time we’re going through submission processes on PlayStation, so it’s taking a little longer than usual. We’re also doing some trial and error on Trophies to ensure we get them right.”
Vampire Survivors quickly became a popular indie game, creating a new sub-genre by blending bullet hell gameplay with roguelite elements. Its engaging gameplay loop of battling hordes of monsters appeals to both short and long gaming sessions, making it suitable for consoles, Steam Deck, or mobile devices. Digital Trends even described it as close to “perfect.”
