VALORANT Champions is currently being held in Seoul, South Korea, featuring some of the top VALORANT teams from around the world.
The excitement surrounding the tournament has been justified in the last two days of intense competition. As the event entered its third day, all eyes were on the anticipated face-off between Primmie and Aspas.
Aspas VS Primmie: The Showdown
With the announcement of the VALORANT Champions groups, the spotlight was on Group B, also known as the “group of death,” and the much-anticipated battle between Aspas and Primmie. Leviatan’s victory in VCT Americas Stage Two had fans eager to witness their performance, especially with world champions Aspas and C0M in their lineup.
Representing the Pacific region, Primmie of Talon Esports made a strong impression in his debut at VALORANT Champions. Despite being the first appearance for Talon Esports at the event, their matchup against Leviatan was challenging.

The first game on Bind saw Talon utilize an interesting team composition with Neon and Yoru, but it was Leviatan who emerged victorious with a 13-11 score. While Aspas and Primmie were the focus, kiNgg stole the show with a remarkable performance, ending the game with a kill-to-death difference of +10.
On Ascent in the second game, Talon showcased a unique composition referred to as the “zombie team,” featuring Sage, Kay/0, Phoenix, Clove, and Sova. Primmie’s standout performance led Talon to a 13-8 victory, with Primmie dominating the Sage role with a KDA of 22/13/5. In the 14 duels between Aspas and Primmie, Primmie emerged victorious with eight wins to Aspas’ six.
When discussing the difference between gameplay styles in North America and the Pacific region, Aspas noted the aggressive nature of players in the Pacific region, even in ranked matches and scrims.
Trace Esports Pull Off Upset Against Team Vitality
In a surprising turn of events, Trace Esports defeated Team Vitality in their match, despite Team Vitality’s strong performance in VCT EMEA Stage Two.
Casting and analyst talent at VALORANT Champions 2024 did not predict Trace Esports’ victory, as they were considered a lower seed from the VCT China League. However, their aggressive synergy, exhibited by players such as FengF, Kai, and LuoK1ng, proved to be a winning factor.
The first game on Ascent resulted in an overtime victory for Trace Esports, with LuoK1ng showcasing impressive gameplay. Moving to the second map, Lotus, Team Vitality regained their form and secured a win with a score of 13-7, setting up a decider map.
In the final map, Trace Esports rallied to secure seven consecutive round wins after a tied score at 6-6, ultimately clinching the victory against Team Vitality.
