Ubisoft has announced further delays for its mobile titles. According to the Q1 financial report released Thursday, both Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence have been pushed out of fiscal year 2025, with a new expected release sometime next year. This move aims to ensure that these games meet expectations and deliver optimized KPIs in a competitive market.
These full versions of the games, designed specifically for touchscreen devices, have faced multiple delays. Rainbow Six Mobile was initially announced in 2022, with a planned release later that year following a closed beta. However, the game did not meet its deadline. In March, the development team announced a pause in the open beta soft launch to address community feedback and enhance key elements.
Similarly, the development of The Division Resurgence has seen delays. Originally announced in 2022 with a fall 2023 release window, the free-to-play mobile game postponed its regional beta phase two in August 2023. After a successful test period in November, the game is now slated for a 2024 release.
Pre-registration is still open for both titles on iOS and Android platforms.
Despite the setbacks, Ubisoft’s overall lineup remains strong. The company maintains its strategic focus on open-world adventures like Assassin’s Creed and the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws, as well as games-as-a-service (GaaS) titles such as XDefiant. With a significant investment in multiplayer shooter XDefiant, Ubisoft canceled development of The Division Heartland to prioritize opportunities like XDefiant and the Rainbow Six series. Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws are both scheduled for release this year.
Ubisoft continues to support titles like The Crew Motorfest and open-world pirate game Skull and Bones, which recently released its second season. The Rome simulation Anno 117: Pax Romana is also on track for a release next year.
