Realme is making a stylish comeback with the introduction of the Realme 13 Pro+, featuring a color scheme and design inspired by a renowned artistic master.
After spending a few hours with the phone, I can confidently say it is one of the most attractive phones I’ve seen this year.
Key Features of the Realme 13 Pro+
The Realme 13 Pro+ boasts a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 1200 nits. The device runs on Android 14 with Realme UI 5.0, offering a familiar experience akin to Oppo’s ColorOS and OnePlus’ OxygenOS.
Featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor from Sony, the camera setup includes optical image stabilization, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP wide-angle sensor. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, offers up to 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.
Monet-inspired Design
The Monet Gold and Monet Purple color options take inspiration from the works of Claude Monet, in collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. The design of the phone, particularly the frosted glass back, showcases a shimmering effect that adds elegance without being ostentatious.
The device is lightweight at 190 grams but features a unique tapered design that may be slightly uncomfortable to hold for some users. The Realme 13 Pro+’s standout feature is its design and color options, with the Monet Gold version being especially noteworthy.
Camera Performance
The camera performance of the Realme 13 Pro+ shows some inconsistencies, with colors sometimes appearing washed out and lacking vibrancy. While the main camera and optical zoom have their strengths, there are areas that need improvement for a more consistent photography experience.
Realme 13 Pro vs. Realme 13 Pro+
The Realme 13 Pro offers a more budget-friendly option compared to the Realme 13 Pro+, with slight differences in camera specifications and charging capabilities.
Realme is set to launch the Realme 13 Pro+ and Realme 13 Pro in India on July 30, with pricing starting at $320 for the base model. Global availability and pricing details are yet to be announced.
A Promising Return for Realme
Realme’s reentry into the global market with the Realme 13 Pro+ showcases a strong design approach, although there are some areas that require fine-tuning, especially in camera performance. As the competition in the smartphone industry intensifies, Realme needs to deliver consistent improvements to stand out.
