Honor is gearing up for the launch of the new smartphone in its revered Magic series. Following the global debut of the Honor Magic 6 Pro, the company is preparing to introduce the Magic 6 Ultimate in China soon. The teaser showcases a fresh camera module design, distinct from that of the Magic 6 Pro.
Honor teased the Magic 6 Ultimate on Weibo with a poster highlighting its “ultimate artistic masterpiece” design. Although the camera lenses remain unseen, the design exudes elegance, featuring gold trim around a unique squircle camera module. Accent lines running along the sides of the camera add to the phone’s exceptional design, setting it apart from competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Historically, the Magic Ultimate editions have introduced distinctive design elements such as leather backs and unconventional camera modules. The Magic 6 Ultimate is expected to continue this trend, featuring a square-ish camera module with curves, a departure from the circular design of its predecessors. The device is likely to boast unique color combinations and trim on the back, akin to the Magic V2 RSR Porsche Edition.
The Magic 5 Ultimate shared most specifications with the Magic 5 Pro but offered a lighter form factor. The Magic 6 Ultimate is expected to follow suit, featuring the same stunning 6.8-inch OLED display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate as the Magic 6 Pro. It’s likely to come with the highest RAM (16GB) and storage (1TB) combination along with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Similar to the Magic 6 Pro, the Magic 6 Ultimate is anticipated to sport a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 180MP periscope telephoto camera, and 50MP ultrawide-angle sensors. Building on the impressive battery life of the Magic 6 Pro, which boasts a 5,600mAh battery, the Magic 6 Ultimate is expected to offer similar longevity with its dual-cell capacity.
The Honor Magic 6 Ultimate is scheduled to launch in China on March 18, 2024, with no confirmation yet on a global release.
