This year has seen a remarkable success in the transition to Windows on Arm, with Microsoft putting significant effort into getting developers to support Copilot+ PCs. The result has been nothing short of a miracle.
Today, Qualcomm-powered Arm devices run most apps without any issues, making them a great choice for the average user.
However, there is still one major gap in the ecosystem. The Adobe suite, particularly Premiere Pro, remains unsupported on Snapdragon X chips. While apps like Photoshop and Lightroom have been recompiled for Arm, Premiere Pro is still not available.
Adobe has promised to work on this issue, but the timeline for the release of a compatible version remains uncertain. In the meantime, Adobe has introduced beta versions of Illustrator and InDesign for Arm devices, showing progress towards full support.
While apps like Slack, Google Chrome, and DaVinci Resolve already run natively on Arm, the wait for Premiere Pro support continues. It’s just a matter of time before we see full compatibility, but the exact timeframe remains unknown.
