Where is the Verizon outage happening?
According to 9to5Mac, the Verizon outage is affecting all aspects of cellular connectivity, including data, phone calls, and text messages. Users in various states across the U.S., including Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, Michigan, and West Virginia, are experiencing disruptions.
Reports on social media also indicate outages in other parts of the country.
iPhone users, especially those with the iPhone 16, are seeing the “SOS only” message in the status bar during this outage.
If your device displays “SOS” or “SOS only,” you can still make emergency calls. However, “No Service” or “Searching” in the status bar on your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular) means your device is not connected to a mobile network. SOS services are available only in Australia, Canada, and the United States.
