Android expert Mishal Rahman discovered that the Rabbit R1’s software is essentially an Android app running on a launcher based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Despite Rabbit’s initial claims, the R1’s software is confirmed to be built on AOSP, with AI tasks being processed in the cloud similar to other AI tools like ChatGPT.
