I’m not a hardcore gamer but I enjoy dabbling in a few games. Despite my limited gaming needs, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience gaming on my M3 Max MacBook Pro 16-inch after transitioning from a Windows laptop. It may not satisfy hardcore gamers, but it definitely got me excited about the future of gaming on Mac.
Historically, Macs haven’t been great gaming machines. This is due to Apple’s lack of emphasis on both the hardware and software sides. However, the introduction of Apple’s Metal framework, which grants developers closer access to the GPU, has significantly improved gaming performance. Additionally, the release of the M3 chipsets with upgraded GPU capabilities has been a game-changer. These advancements have made it easier to entice game developers to the Mac platform.
