The Google Tasks app has received a major update with a redesigned look, which is currently being rolled out to users and will soon be available on Android phones.
Originally announced in June, the update enhances the user experience by introducing a new card format for each task, replacing the old list format. The bottom bar has been replaced with a floating action button, making navigation easier. Additionally, the three-dot overflow menu is now accessible directly from each card, next to the sorting options.
According to Android Police, the cards now have a slightly darker shade compared to the app’s background, especially noticeable in dark mode. For users eager to get the update sooner, the latest Tasks version can be sideloaded from APKMirror.
The revamped Google Tasks app for Android offers a cleaner interface, and users can expect the refreshed look to be available to everyone shortly. Since the update is being implemented on the server side, no manual app update from the Google Play Store is required. While force closing and reopening the app may expedite the update process, this method may not always work.
Similar to task management apps from other tech giants like Apple, Google Tasks simplifies the process of creating, detailing, and organizing tasks with due dates. The app also allows seamless synchronization across all devices, including mobile and desktop.
Google Tasks integrates smoothly with other Google services such as Gmail and Calendar, offering a comprehensive view of your daily and weekly schedules.
