During the Mobile World Congress, an event for startups called “Four Years From Now” was integrated into the main event. This event, now a part of MWC, includes a startup competition to find the best startups globally.
After receiving pitches from hundreds of startups, five finalists were selected by industry experts and investors.
Here are the five finalists from the competition:
BITSENSING
Bitsensing, a radar technology company from South Korea, has developed a system that can detect passengers inside a car without using cameras. It can also identify where in the car the person is sitting. The company has raised $21.3 million so far.
MICA AI MEDICAL
Mica AI Medical specializes in diagnosing suspicious findings in early stages of breast cancer development using image scans. This addresses the limitation of regular mammography for women with dense breasts.
OCEAN ECOSTRUCTURES
Ocean Ecostructures, based in Spain, focuses on regenerating marine life to offset the environmental impact of ‘grey oceans’. The company has raised €1.6 million and is supported by investors like Inclimo Climate Tech Fund and Ship2B Ventures.
QILIMANJARO QUANTUM TECH
Qilimanjaro is a quantum computing company working on hardware and software development with a focus on high-quality qubit architectures and coherent quantum annealers. Founded in 2018, it is led by José Ignacio Latorre, a professor of Theoretical Physics.
WHISPP
Whispp, an Assistive Voice Tech and Calling App from the Netherlands, converts whispered and impaired speech into natural voice in real-time. The technology can assist the elderly or post-operative patients, and has raised €1.4 million in funding.
