While Hadrian has successfully supplied parts to major defense companies, it faced challenges accommodating defense tech startups that require rapid design iterations. This limitation stemmed from the need to set up new production lines constantly, undermining the efficiency of their automated factory valued at $275 million.
To address this issue, Hadrian recently acquired Datum Source, a software company with AI capabilities created by former SpaceX employees. This acquisition enables Hadrian to offer startups a streamlined process for identifying suitable manufacturers for specific parts, enhancing efficiency and flexibility in production.
