Kid-friendly consumer technology is in high demand these days, leading to a market specifically for headphones designed for children. However, when it comes to “kid-friendly,” we often associate it with products that are less durable than those for adults. This is not the case with the headphones on our list of the best headphones for kids.
We expect child-friendly headphones to have parental-controlled volume limiters to protect our children’s ears. Nearly every product on our list meets this important requirement. Additionally, we look for headphones with exceptional noise-cancellation, built-in microphones for phone and video calls, and long-lasting battery life for school days or long trips.
Puro Sound PuroQuiet Plus
Noise-canceling for kids
Pros
- Comfortable
- Solid Bluetooth performance
- Good sound quality
- Long-lasting battery
Cons
- Pricier than most kids headphones
We were impressed with Puro Sound’s original PuroQuiet headphones, which is why we were excited to try out the new-and-improved PuroQuiet Plus. Our Copy Editor Suzanne Sutherland let her children test the headsets, and the results were impressive.
The PuroQuiet Plus are active noise-canceling (ANC) headphones that effectively block outside noise to help children concentrate. They have an 85-decibel volume cutoff and use internal volume limiting to gradually reduce volume as children approach the limit, protecting their ears.
According to Sutherland, her son has had no issues connecting the PuroQuiet Plus to his devices for schoolwork and the Bluetooth range is impressive. The headphones offer a battery life of up to 35 hours with ANC disabled, and they provide well-balanced sound and comfort for extended listening sessions.
