Tencent’s highly anticipated open-world RPG Honor of Kings: World is scheduled to be released in 2025.
This exciting news was unveiled during the recent Apple Event, where new devices, including the iPhone 16 range of smartphones, were introduced.
Apple announced that the game will include an “ultra graphics mode” specifically optimized for the iPhone 16, offering higher resolutions, advanced lighting effects, powerful global illumination technology, and an expanded viewing distance. It was not clarified whether this mode would be exclusive to the iPhone.
During the announcement, Apple showcased a brief gameplay demonstration of the title, which you can view below.
The latest footage from Honor of Kings World’s YouTube account was released on October 28th, 2023, featuring a six-minute gameplay trailer of the game.
Banking on a Blockbuster
Developed by Tencent’s TiMi Studio, Honor of Kings: World is planned for release on multiple platforms upon its launch next year.
This title is a spin-off of the hugely successful MOBA game, which has amassed $17.36 billion in revenue worldwide from the App Store and Google Play, according to estimates by AppMagic. Most of this revenue is from China’s App Store and does not account for player spending on third-party Android stores.
The game began its global rollout on June 20th, following the launch of localized versions like Arena of Valor in various regions.
Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to speak with Honor of Kings chief designer Dean Huang, localization lead Henry Li, and esports head Feng to gather more insights into the game’s upcoming launch.
