Challenges Faced by Team Liquid
Team Liquid’s struggles in grand finals continued in 2023 and beyond. The relatively new roster of Team Falcons, led by previous TI winners Sneyking and skiter, proved to be a formidable opponent for Team Liquid.
The main issue for Liquid seemed to be psychological. They came close to victory in Game 2, but Falcons’ unorthodox tactics and aggressive gameplay turned the tide. Additionally, malrine’s early DK pick in Game 3 posed a significant challenge for Nisha’s Storm Spirit, despite his previous success in the 1v1 mid tournament.
In Game 3, Liquid fought hard to hold on, but the relentless pressure and dominant performance from Team Falcons made a comeback nearly impossible.
New Meta Observations
Throughout the grand finals, certain heroes emerged as key players. Team Falcons notably utilized Gyrocopter in all three games, with Skiter’s build causing problems for Liquid’s supports. Other heroes such as Vengeful Spirit, Mars, IO, Dragon Knight, Luna, Shadow Demon, Tidehunter, and Mirana also made significant appearances, showcasing the evolving meta in competitive Dota 2.
With the upcoming DreamLeague Season 22 on the horizon, fans are eager to see if Team Liquid can bounce back from this defeat.
