It’s been a while since our Tablo review crowned a new king of over-the-air television, and it’s time for a quick catch-up. Tablo is a device that allows you to watch live broadcast TV by plugging in an over-the-air antenna. It has 128GB of on-board storage, expandable to 8TB, which is good for 50 hours of shows.
We originally reviewed a two-tuner model, but a four-tuner model was later released. If you need to watch OTA television on multiple devices simultaneously or record multiple shows at once, the four-tuner model may be worth the extra cost.
Tablo now offers a bundle with the four-tuner device and a 35-mile indoor over-the-air antenna available on Amazon. Keep in mind that an outdoor antenna may be better depending on your setup. However, if you prefer something simple and easy to set up, this bundle is a great option.
Tablo supports apps for various platforms such as Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Google TV, and Android and iOS smartphones. Support for Apple TV hardware and smart TVs from Samsung, LG, and Vizio is expected in the coming months.
