Email startup Superhuman is embracing AI technology with the launch of its AI-powered instant replies feature today. The company’s focus this year is on enhancing AI-driven functionality. The instant replies feature offers three contextual reply options to streamline email responses.
Superhuman’s goal is to help users achieve inbox zero efficiently. The instant replies feature is designed to expedite email responses. While similar to Gmail’s smart replies, Superhuman emphasizes that its feature is more personalized and contextually relevant.
Upon hitting reply to an email, users will receive three quick reply options. When selecting an option, Superhuman generates a complete sentence reply for the user. Users can easily switch between reply options by pressing the tab key and send the selected response by pressing enter. The company reports that beta testers of the instant replies feature are sending emails twice as quickly.
Superhuman has introduced various AI-powered products, including Superhuman AI to help users draft better emails, an auto-summarize feature that provides one-line email summaries, and now instant replies. The company plans to further integrate AI into its products, moving towards automating tasks like email summarization and replies without user prompt.
Superhuman’s co-founder and CEO, Rahul Vohra, believes that the company’s AI features will drive user engagement. The company aims to continue expanding its AI capabilities, with plans to eventually integrate AI assistants for scheduling and composing emails on behalf of users.
With a profitable business model and five years of runway, Superhuman is not currently considering new funding rounds. The company is focused on developing AI products and enhancing team collaboration features. Superhuman also has plans to introduce special edition email clients tailored for specific roles, starting with Superhuman for sales professionals with integrations like Salesforce and Hubspot.
