The highly anticipated Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 has finally been given a release date. During Gamescom Opening Night Live, 2K Games announced that the 4X strategy game will hit the shelves on February 11, 2025.
Excited fans can preorder the game now. The standard edition is priced at $70 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox, and $60 for Nintendo Switch and PC (includes Tecumseh and Shawnee packs). A deluxe edition is also available for $100 on PS5 and Xbox, and $90 on Switch and PC. This edition includes early access for five days. Moreover, there is a Founders Edition priced at $130 for PC.
The reveal showcased initial gameplay footage, hinting at a revamped visual experience. Firaxis has promised gameplay enhancements including a reworked tutorial for beginners and improved game progression for seasoned players.
Ed Beach, Firaxis creative director, described Civilization 7 as the company’s “biggest, most ambitious” title to date. More details are expected to be unveiled in the coming months.
While the game was initially announced during Summer Game Fest without much information, the recent reveal at Gamescom provided a glimpse into the game’s direction. The full reveal is set for August with a release window in 2025.
