The next Blizzard games heading to Xbox Game Pass are two real-time strategy classics. Xbox announced during its Tokyo Game Show 2024 presentation that StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection will soon be available on PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate.
Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer revealed this news, donning a StarCraft T-shirt on the virtual stage. Spencer made a series of quick announcements, concluding with the release date of November 5 for the two games on Game Pass.
This release will not affect players’ ability to enjoy StarCraft and StarCraft 2 multiplayer for free through Battle.net with a Classic account. Instead, it caters to those interested in single-player campaigns. StarCraft: Remastered boasts visual and audio enhancements, such as 4K and widescreen aspect ratio support. The StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection offers over 70 missions from Heart of the Swarm, Wings of Liberty, and all expansions, along with their multiplayer modes.
On Battle.net, StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection usually costs $40, while StarCraft: Remastered is priced at $15. Regrettably, StarCraft: Cartooned bundles will not be playable on Game Pass.
“Since the launch of StarCraft in 1998 and the release of StarCraft 2 in 2010, the series has greatly impacted the real-time strategy genre, esports, and live streaming. It continues to captivate a vibrant and passionate community eager to welcome new members,” Xbox mentioned in a blog post.
Unfortunately, there is no news about StarCraft 3 at this time. Apologies for the disappointment.
