PocketGamer.biz: Can you provide insights into your role at Dubai Future Foundation?
In my capacity as the Director of Future Foresight at Dubai Future Foundation, I am dedicated to advancing Dubai’s vision of emerging as a key city of the future. My responsibilities include leading research initiatives on future industries and their impact on Dubai’s economy, society, and environment. Additionally, I oversee the UAE Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is part of the global network established by the World Economic Forum.
Some of my notable projects include spearheading the Dubai Financial Market’s Voluntary Carbon Credit Market, the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033, and the Dubai Future Readiness Index.

What will be the focus of your presentation at Dubai GameExpo Summit?
My session will revolve around Dubai’s ambition to cement its position as one of the top ten gaming cities by 2033. The Dubai Program for Gaming 2033, launched in November 2023, aims to create 30,000 jobs by 2033, inject $1 billion annually into Dubai’s GDP, and establish the city as a top ten revenue-generating gaming hub. This discussion is pivotal as it sheds light on the abundant opportunities awaiting individuals in Dubai’s gaming industry.
In your opinion, what will be the next major disruptor in mobile games?
Undoubtedly, AI holds the potential to be a significant disruptor. With its numerous advantages, such as providing infinite replayability through AI NPCs, AI is poised to revolutionize mobile games and potentially drive hardware developers to focus on AI-specific technologies.
Choose a topic of interest and share your thoughts on either the metaverse, cloud gaming, cross-platform games, or play-to-earn games.
Regarding play-to-earn games, I consider them beyond just games.
Is there a specific trending topic you would like to explore further?
I am keen on exploring strategies to reduce the frequency of workforce layoffs.
Can you recall your very first mobile phone?
It was a Nokia 8210, affectionately known as Kit-Kat in my locale.
