As a self-proclaimed gaming geek, Adam Smart serves as a gaming ambassador for mobile, PC, and console. At AppsFlyer, he holds the role of director of product – gaming, where he focuses on driving global growth in the vertical through product development, go-to-market strategy, and business development. With over seven years of experience at top developer Product Madness, he brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the role.
Smart is scheduled to be one of the expert speakers at Pocket Gamer Connects London on January 22nd to 23rd. His upcoming talk, entitled ‘In the Sandbox With… Creative Success!’, will explore the crucial role that ad creative plays in user acquisition and strategies for maximizing returns, especially in light of the privacy implications in the mobile landscape. Smart and his guest speakers will also discuss the added complexity of fostering cross-departmental cooperation to enhance and evolve creative strategies within the games industry.
When asked about the next big disruptor in mobile games, Smart pointed to third-party stores, predicting a super interesting time for organic discovery from new marketplaces. He believes that the saturation of so many studios creating numerous titles and the success of PC and console games are the biggest challenges facing the mobile games industry today.
When asked about inspiring leaders in the games industry, Smart commended Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen for his immense success and open approach to sharing the company’s struggles. He also revealed that his favorite mobile game is Raid: Shadow Legends and has been on his phone the longest, closely followed by Clash of Clans.
