Spatial has announced the creation of the Wolves Den Game Jam, which takes on a Shark Tank-style show with gaming celebrities like Ice-T, Cliff Bleszinski, Welyn, and Barji as judges.
To attract more game developers to its spatial platform, the New York company has officially launched the contest and is inviting submissions from budding game developers with a prize pool of $15,000.

The judging panel includes Ice-T, a renowned musician, rapper, and actor; Cliff Bleszinski, co-creator of Gears of War; Barji, an indie game developer and YouTube sensation; and Welyn, a gaming influencer known as the “Survival King”.

“I love the show Shark Tank and I have enough experience in the videogame industry to give my two cents on ideas,” said Bleszinski. “Plus, I’m a fan of devs trying to make their own stuff and, hopefully, strike it rich.”
Spatial aims to become the “Youtube for gamers” and the Wolves Den contest will provide a platform to champion indie developers by connecting them with new and upcoming talent. The contest challenges developers to create Unity demos under the theme “Survival Revival”, blending survival with another genre of their choice.
Anand Agarawala, CEO and Co-founder at Spatial, stated, “We’re fast becoming the Youtube for gamers, giving a platform to champion indie game developers who are not just making games but crafting entire universes on Spatial.”
Gianna Valentina, director of global partnerships at Spatial, mentioned that the company has been working on the show since last year as part of its original game jam series.
How the contest works
The contest will unfold in two episodes, with the top 25 projects voted by the itch.io community being narrowed down to eight semi-finalists by the Spatial team. These semi-finalists will pitch their games, and the Wolves will select four finalists to develop their demos into fully playable games.
