Skich started out as a discovery and recommendation app for mobile games and gained traction for that. In response to new app store regulations, it is now creating its own alternative app store.
The app is designed for the age of swiping left or right, allowing users to show interest in games, sort, collect, launch and delete them as desired.
Skich offers weekly game recommendations based on user preferences and aims to identify the best games available.
With around 100,000 users, Skich has experienced organic growth of about 25% month-to-month. The team also launched a web-based product, growing the audience organically as well.

The Skich team prioritizes product metrics over audience growth, focusing on creating the best product first, especially as the distribution of an app store differs from traditional mobile app distribution.
“We have an easier time getting people to allow us to use their data about themselves,” said Sergey Budkovski, CEO of Skich, in an interview.
Skich’s move towards an alternative app store aligns with changing regulations like the European Union’s Digital Markets Act, allowing developers to set up their own app stores without penalties.
