After facing delays and teasers for an extended period, Riot has finally unveiled the reworked abilities of Skarner in League of Legends. Skarner, who was voted by the community for a rework in 2023, faced some developmental hurdles causing the rework to be postponed. However, the wait is now over, and the reworked version of Skarner will soon be available on the PBE.
Here is a breakdown of Skarner’s new abilities:
– Passive – Threads of Vibration: Skarner’s attacks apply Quaking to enemies, dealing % Max HP damage over time to enemies with three stacks of Quaking.
– Q – Shattered Earth: Empowers Skarner’s next three attacks with bonus damage, range, and attack speed. The third attack slams a rock into the target, slowing and dealing significant bonus damage.
– W – Seismic Bastion: Grants Skarner a shield and releases a shockwave that damages and slows nearby enemies.
– E – Ixtal’s Impact: Charges forward, ignoring terrain, and grabs the first enemy champion or large monster collided with, damaging and stunning them if they collide with terrain.
– R – Impale: Impales up to three enemy champions, damaging and suppressing them. Skarner gains bonus movement speed and carries them until the end of the effect.
The reworked Skarner focuses on being more combat-oriented rather than just relying on his ultimate ability. It’s essential to wait for the actual numbers to gauge his effectiveness in the upcoming matches.
