Every plan for global domination always has to start somewhere. After assessing the potential, weighing the options, and planning long-term strategies, Sega and Rovio are now unveiling the consumer-facing results of their collaboration with each other.
From now until March 21, these two gaming giants have come together to add additional content to five popular games – three from Rovio and two from Sega. This collaboration brings together the iconic Sonic and Angry Birds franchises in a unique crossover experience.
The five games featuring new content from both Sega and Rovio are Angry Birds 2, Angry Birds Dream Blast, Angry Birds Friends, Sonic Forces, and Sonic Dash.
During this limited-time event, a new storyline unfolds in all five games where the Pigs from Angry Birds open a portal to Sonic’s universe, leading to a plot by Sonic’s arch-nemesis, Dr. Eggman, to steal the Angry Birds’ eggs. Sonic and Red must team up to defeat Dr. Eggman, his Badniks, and the Pigs, bringing together heroes and villains from both gaming universes.
An Innovative Strategy
This collaboration marks the first time that a cross-universe multi-game strategy has been implemented since Sega and Rovio’s official union, opening up possibilities for further collaborations in the future.

Sonic Forces
Angry Birds Limited-Time Event: Team up with Sonic and Red to stop Dr. Eggman! Collect gold rings and power-ups to increase your team’s score and defeat Dr. Eggman to win fantastic prizes.
Sonic Dash
Playable Characters: Red and Chuck join Sonic Dash as playable characters. Collect legendary character cards to unlock them for free or purchase them. Discover Angry Birds themed collectibles on the track for exciting rewards.
Angry Birds 2
“Sonic Friends” Hat Event and themed “You’re Too Slow” Adventure: Participate in a limited-time hat event with Sonic and friends. Collect special Sonic-themed hats for your Angry Birds to increase their power and overcome the Piggie defenses.
Angry Birds Dream Blast
Sonic’s Flash Race Event: Join Sonic’s Flash Race event in Angry Birds Dream Blast and race through saga levels to set the leaderboard on fire!
Angry Birds Friends
Sonic Tournament: Take on the treacherous Pigs Army with Sonic and Angry Birds Friends in 30 Sonic-themed levels with recognizable locations and characters.
