After more than four years of development, the base-building and resource management simulator Satisfactory received a surprise release date announcement. The highlight of the announcement was the introduction of a unique feature: flushable toilets.
In a short trailer, a character is shown urgently needing to use the bathroom. They navigate obstacles before finally reaching a toilet, while another character looks on. The release date for Satisfactory 1.0 is revealed at the end of the trailer: September 10.

According to a post on Steam, “The HUB’s once-trivial toilet has been updated with an advanced flushing mechanism, providing an extra luxurious worker experience for pioneers.” For fans of interactable toilets in video games, this feature is seen as highly entertaining and important.
The PC game will also receive numerous updates for its 1.0 release. This includes adding new resource nodes on the map and adjusting the distribution of various resources. Furthermore, dedicated servers will have additional support and advanced settings.
Several balance updates have been made to improve the early and midgame experiences for players. Recipe costs have been adjusted, transitions between tiers have been made smoother, and optimizations have been implemented to enhance game performance.
Recent reports show that Satisfactory has been a major success on PC since its launch in June 2020. By February 2024, it had sold over 5.5 million copies, reflecting the game’s popularity and growth.
One of the reasons for the extended early access period was the transition to Unreal Engine 5, which led to an increase in system requirements. The developers also took their time to integrate new features and ideas, such as the priority power switch, to address player feedback and improve gameplay.
