Samsung is preparing to launch its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the Galaxy A16, with leaks indicating that it will offer an impressive package for its price point.
According to Android Headlines, the Galaxy A16 will be available in two versions depending on the location: 5G and 4G models. The 5G model will be powered by the Samsung Exynos 1330 or Dimensity 6300 chipset, showcasing next-generation 5G connectivity.
The 4G version is expected to utilize the MediaTek Helio G99 chip, a reliable processor for everyday tasks. Regardless of the processor, both versions of the Galaxy A16 are set to feature a range of specifications:
- Display: A large 6.7-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate for an immersive viewing experience.
- RAM and Storage: 4GB of RAM for seamless multitasking and 128GB of expandable storage for ample space for apps, photos, and videos.
- Battery: A 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging support to last you throughout the day.
- Cameras: Triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary camera, 5-megapixel ultrawide lens, and 2-megapixel macro camera, along with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
The Galaxy A16 is expected to feature a flat display, a selfie camera notch at the top, and a slightly thicker bottom bezel.
Additionally, the Galaxy A16 is rumored to come with six years of guaranteed software updates, offering longevity in terms of software support.
Samsung had initially planned to launch the Galaxy A16 5G in India in September, with a wider release later in the year. However, the release has been delayed, possibly following the pattern of the Galaxy A15 launch last year in December. The Galaxy A15 was priced around $230.
When it eventually launches, the Galaxy A16 is set to be available in Black, Gray, and Light Green color options.
If you are in the market for a budget smartphone, keep an eye out for the Galaxy A16 when it hits the shelves.
