Samsung has announced that its Galaxy AI features will be available on more devices through a new update, One UI 6.1, which is set to be released in late March. The update will bring the features to the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, as well as Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9+, and Tab S9.
The AI features were initially introduced for the Galaxy S24 series, but will soon be accessible to a wider range of Samsung users. This move aligns with the trend of other tech companies expanding their AI-powered features, making them more widely accessible.
Among the notable features included in the upcoming update is Google’s “Circle to Search,” which allows users to make gestures like circling, highlighting, scribbling, or tapping to search from anywhere on their phone. Additionally, the “Live Translate” feature will offer voice and text translations for phone calls, and an “Interpreter” feature will generate text translations for live conversations.
Users will also have access to “Chat Assist,” providing the ability to adjust tone in messages and translate texts in 13 languages via Samsung Keyboard. The update will introduce a new “Note Assist” feature for generating summaries and translating notes, as well as a “Browsing Assist” feature that offers quick summaries of news articles.
Furthermore, the update will bring new editing capabilities, including “Generative Edit” to resize, reposition, and realign objects in photos, an “Edit Suggestion” feature for quick photo polishing, and “Instant Slow-Mo” to generate additional frames for slow-motion videos.
