French start-up RIVRS has successfully raised €4 million ($4.4m) in its initial funding round.
The funding round was exclusively led by Pléiade Venture, an investment firm that focuses on high-growth businesses.
This financial injection will support the ongoing development of games on platforms like Roblox, Fortnite, and Minecraft, as well as aid in preparations for global expansion.
Currently, RIVRS has 14 titles under its belt, attracting 1.5 million players.
Expanding Horizons through Funding
Founded in 2021 by Romain Hubert and Loïc Deffains, RIVRS capitalizes on the flourishing UGC games market, generating €500,000 ($551,502) in revenue from a single game.
The company has showcased its ability to swiftly bring games to the market, establishing itself as a formidable player in the industry.
“Our successful business model and our knack for producing high-quality games rapidly position us as a leading contender in the global UGC video game market,” commented Romain Hubert, co-founder, and CEO of RIVRS.
“This funding round marks a significant milestone for us and enables us to pursue our goal of becoming the top UGC video game provider worldwide in the years to come.”
Roblox’s founder and CEO, David Baszucki, has expressed ambitions to channel “10% of all gaming revenue” through the Roblox ecosystem and is committed to increasing the platform’s daily active users from 79.5 million to one billion.
