Riot Games Unveils VCT Official Team Capsules

Riot Games has announced the introduction of team-specific capsules and skins for the 2024 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT). This new initiative will allow fans to show support for their favorite teams and will also provide additional monetization opportunities for the teams involved. Here’s what you need to know about the VCT Team Capsules:

The VCT Team Capsules

Riot Games has created a total of 44 capsules, one for each partnered team around the world. These in-game items will feature classic and AR Inspect skins with unique firing audio and recolored muzzle flash, a custom Player Card co-created with the teams, and an exclusive Buddy and Spray set. Additionally, 50% of the profits from each team’s collection will be shared with the teams throughout the year.

In 2023, a total of $33 million USD (€30.53 million) was collected from the VALORANT esports capsules and shared with the teams. This season, Riot is providing even more monetization opportunities by allowing teams to co-create the skins, banners, and cards to make each capsule unique.

Special Promotions for Winners

Winners of global events will have special promotions on the store, and players will be able to access these skins via the in-game Esports Hub for an extended period of availability. Team Capsules for VCT Americas, EMEA, and Pacific will be available starting from February 21, while the VCT CN skins will launch in May, coinciding with the Masters Shanghai.

With VALORANT’s increasing popularity and over 28 million active players, the VCT circuit continues to expand, now including four leagues with the addition of China. Top teams are vying for a spot in the upcoming Masters Madrid, and the season will conclude with the Champions event in Seoul, Korea in August.
