Riot Games has revealed the new model for the 2025 Americas League, following the unification of the LCS with the LLA and CBLOL.
Americas League in 2025 – Tier 1 teams
The LoL Esports scene has been buzzing with activity, with only six orgs remaining from the LCS after the departure of Golden Guardians and Evil Geniuses. Riot will provide more details on the Tier 1 teams post the 2024 season.
Riot has outlined the structure of the new Americas League, divided into North and South conferences, aiming for consistency and fairness across both areas.
Consistency and Fairness
Both conferences will follow identical formats and calendars, promoting regional development and cross-conference competition. Games will be hosted in Los Angeles for the North conference and São Paulo for the South conference, with top teams participating in LAN events twice a year for global tournaments.
Split 1
The first split will introduce the Fearless Draft format, preventing teams from picking the same champions more than once in a series. The split will culminate in a cross-conference showdown.
Split 2
In the second split, top teams from both conferences will compete for a spot at MSI in a traditional format.
Split 3
The final split will feature a more aggressive format with series play leading to a LAN event where teams will battle for three slots at Worlds. Each conference’s top team will secure a slot, with the remaining spot contested by other top teams. A Regional Championship roadshow will also be held annually in a new Americas location.
As the LCS, LLA, and CBLOL gear up for Worlds 2024, the League of Legends community eagerly awaits the dawn of a new era in competitive play.
