VALORANT has garnered millions of players worldwide despite being currently exclusive to PC. However, Riot has expressed its plans to expand the game to other platforms, particularly mobile devices. A recent update at the VCT Masters Madrid press conference shed light on when players can expect to hear more about VALORANT’s release on mobile and other platforms.
VALORANT Mobile was first announced in 2021, and although almost three years have passed, players have not received significant updates on its development progress. Nonetheless, leaks from ongoing playtests have been promising, sparking hope among fans for an imminent release.
Creating a PC game for mobile devices from scratch, as Riot is doing with VALORANT, is a challenging task. The lack of communication regarding its development has left players eager for more information.
Riot’s Potential Update on VALORANT Mobile and Other Platforms
At the VCT Masters Madrid event, VALORANT’s studio head, Anna Donlon, responded to inquiries about VALORANT Mobile by stating that the game is still in development without any significant updates to share at the moment.
“Development continues on VALORANT Mobile. I have no significant update today, but we’re still working through that game and its gameplay,” Donlon added. “So hopefully, we can give some updates, maybe even later this year.”
Based on this statement, it appears that VALORANT Mobile is not close to a widespread release, and there is no confirmation of an update on its development status in 2024.
Regarding console platforms, Donlon expressed more optimism about potential updates for players later this year. While Riot has not officially announced the arrival of VALORANT on consoles, job updates for console developers have led players to speculate about its eventual release. The company has not specified which consoles the game might be launched on, leaving players in suspense.
