Pocket Gamer Connects is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, and as part of that celebration, we are committed to evolving our conference series and improving how we connect with our audience – that’s you!
Collecting feedback from attendees is a vital part of event planning and always a key component of our post-conference review process. The insights provided by our delegates help us gauge the success of our events and guide our future planning. By actively seeking honest suggestions and constructive criticism, we can pinpoint areas for enhancement. If you’ve attended a Pocket Gamer Connects event in the past decade, you’ve likely received a feedback form requesting input.
For our upcoming events, we are introducing a new way for you to share your opinions. We have partnered with Voop, a new service that allows you to provide instant feedback via voice calls or the web. Voop anonymizes feedback and leverages powerful AI to offer actionable recommendations. This AI service has various potential applications, including gathering feedback from gamers about the games they are playing to provide quick insights to studios.
Voop, a startup co-founded by Geoff Glendenning, a gaming industry veteran with experience at PlayStation, is continuously expanding its user base. We are proud to be one of the first companies to collaborate with Voop and explore its capabilities. We had a quick chat with Geoff Glendenning to learn more about Voop and how it will benefit the Pocket Gamer Connects audience and other communities.
PocketGamer.biz: In a nutshell, what does Voop do?
Glendenning: Voop is a qualitative feedback and research product that analyzes, compiles, and delivers real-time insights and action recommendations through a customizable dashboard. This could involve data from customer satisfaction surveys, social media monitoring, and research, or live voice/text responses from quick question links that can be easily shared online, via email, or through an in-game API.
Voop understands 52 languages, age range, gender, sentiment, and emotional context. It’s anonymous and takes no personal data.
Geoff Glendenning, Voop AI
Voop’s AI can interpret data in 52 languages, analyze demographics, emotional context, and ensure anonymity without collecting personal information.
What AI model or technology are you using?
Voop utilizes proprietary voice analysis models that are LLM agnostic. The current version relies on Open AI’s GPT-4 models, which are currently the most suitable. However, the team regularly evaluates LLMs and may combine GPT-4 with other specialized models in the future.
How do you tailor your AI-powered feedback solution to meet the specific needs of different customers?
We personalize our approach per game, aligning with the business objectives, player personas, competitors, key metrics, and risks. This customization is combined with industry-specific training and a scoring system based on key metrics to ensure that every feedback is tagged with relevant topics.
What’s your current roadmap for the year ahead? When can other people take advantage of Voop?
We are currently in beta testing and collaborating with selected clients through our Early Partner Program. Our initial games product is scheduled for launch towards the end of Q2 or early Q3. Look out for an email from us during the Dubai GameExpo Summit, powered by Pocket Gamer Connects, for a link to the Voop feedback page. Our upcoming conferences are in Helsinki in October and Jordan in November. Your feedback is crucial to us as we aim to enhance our events based on your input.
