Pokémon Worlds 2024 concluded on Sunday, August 18th, in Honolulu, Hawaii, with several exciting announcements. Alongside plans for next year’s championship competition, The Pokémon Company also unveiled updates for mobile games such as Go, Unite, and the highly anticipated Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
Initially announced in February as a joint venture between The Pokémon Company, Creatures Inc, and DeNA, the release date for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has finally been confirmed for October 30th, 2024.
Pre-registrations are now live, offering Android and iOS users more than two months to prepare for this digital adaptation of the popular TCG.
Beyond Traditional Boundaries
When Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was first revealed, it was promised that players would receive two free card packs daily, encouraging consistent engagement from both competitive players and casual fans of the Pokémon franchise.
In an effort to elevate the digital experience beyond traditional TCG gameplay, Pocket will introduce Immersive Cards that break away from traditional borders, showcasing stunning artwork and immersive new environments.
“In this game, you will be able to open two booster packs every day at no cost. You can collect digital cards featuring nostalgic artwork from the past as well as brand-new cards that are exclusive to Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket,” stated The Pokémon Company.
“An innovative TCG experience arrives on October 30, 2024. Pre-register now on iOS and Android devices,” the company shared on Twitter.
Players will also have the opportunity to engage in battles using their collected cards, encouraging additional purchases to build the ultimate deck. With over 50 billion physical card sales worldwide, the transition to digital gaming caused shares in DeNA to skyrocket by 24.4% in a single day.
