The Android notification drawer can be both a blessing and a curse due to the overwhelming number of notifications received. Managing notifications on a per-app basis or implementing a system to prevent missing important updates is crucial. An app called Pinnit provides a solution by offering a notifications history feature to review missed notifications and create custom notifications.
Developed by Android developer Sasikanth Miriyampalli from India and designer Eduardo Pratti from Brazil, Pinnit was originally launched in 2020 to help users pin tasks to the notification bar as a reminder tool.
The latest version of Pinnit features an enhanced notification history component, allowing users to review dismissed notifications, search through them, and categorize based on date or app source. The app offers a cleaner view by filtering out specific app notifications and includes a date picker for easy browsing.
Miriyampalli stated that the app’s primary focus was to prevent users from missing important reminders and tasks within a flood of notifications. Pinnit enables users to create persistent notifications, customize titles and descriptions, and treat custom notifications as reminders.
Future updates for Pinnit involve incorporating features like location-based reminders, notification word filtering for privacy, app widgets, and optimization for large-screen devices. The developers aim to expand the functionality beyond current capabilities.
Pinnit is available for a one-time fee of $1.99 after a 14-day trial period.
