Activision Blizzard announced today that it is introducing the Transformers franchise to Overwatch 2 through a new line of skins. This crossover event launches today and runs until July 22. It includes four skins for Overwatch 2 characters inspired by Autobot or Decepticon armor, available for purchase, as well as various cosmetics that players can earn for free.
These skins feature:
- Optimus Prime Reinhardt
- Bumblebee Bastion
- Arcee Illari
- Megatron Rammatra
Bobbi Kim from Blizzard Studios created the concept art for these crossovers. In an interview, Kim expressed his excitement for the project, stating that Transformers have always been a source of inspiration for him. He recalled watching the Transformers series as a child and how it fueled his imagination.
Kim particularly enjoyed working on the Reinhard Prime skin, showcasing his admiration for Optimus Prime and his attempt to incorporate the iconic design elements of the character into Reinhardt’s skin.
