OnePlus has always followed its own path when it comes to innovation, and its latest venture into mobile artificial intelligence, AI Eraser, is no exception. This is not just a copy of Google’s Magic Eraser, but a unique offering from OnePlus that showcases its own AI ambitions.
It seems OnePlus has been working on AI Eraser for some time now, developing it from scratch with its own large language models. The company’s press material emphasizes the substantial research and development investment that went into creating AI Eraser, which can intelligently remove unwanted objects from photos and enhance their overall appeal.
While AI Eraser is a useful feature, Google has already implemented a similar feature in Google Photos on both iOS and Android devices. Perhaps OnePlus should focus its resources on creating innovative features that truly set it apart from the competition in the future.
The rollout of AI Eraser will begin this month on selected OnePlus devices, including OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Open, and OnePlus Nord CE 4. However, it will not be available on the R12-D12 model.
