OnePlus has been gradually releasing details as it prepares for the launch of its upcoming flagship phone later this month. The latest tease sheds some light on the OnePlus 13’s camera hardware, which includes some minor upgrades and changes.
The primary camera will feature Sony’s LYT-808 sensor, the same 50-megapixel 1/1.4-inch format found on the OnePlus 12. This time, OnePlus is expanding 4K Dolby Vision capture support to all cameras, not just the main one.
An interesting change is seen in the zoom capture segment. The OnePlus 12 had a 64-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, while the OnePlus 13 will have a 50-megapixel sensor with the same optical zoom range.
Although the aperture figures remain the same, the new 50-megapixel telephoto unit has a slightly larger sensor. OnePlus confirms that this periscope zoom module comes with an upgraded “multiple prism reflection structure.”
A OnePlus executive also shared on Weibo that the new zoom camera kit offers higher photosensitivity, potentially leading to more efficient light data collection and improved picture quality.
The ultrawide camera is also getting an upgrade, with the OnePlus 13 featuring a 50-megapixel camera for wide-frame capture compared to the predecessor’s 48-megapixel camera.
The Hasselblad mode optimizations remain, with additional features for capturing stylish photos and videos. OnePlus 13 will also have a flat 2K OLED display, matching the flat side aesthetics of the device.
The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon processor, promising an unprecedented 120FPS gaming experience on its next flagship. Software-wise, the device will run on Android 15-based OxygenOS 15, currently in beta testing.
OnePlus 13 will be available in white, black, and a navy blue shade with a leather finish. Pre-orders are already open in China, with the official launch scheduled for October 31 in the company’s home market.
