Omeda Studios is launching an open beta for Predecessor to establish a presence alongside League of Legends and DOTA 2 in the MOBA genre.
The free-to-play MOBA will enter open beta on March 28.
Founded by Robbie Singh, Omeda resurrected the remnants of the Paragon MOBA from Epic Games’ discontinuation and transformed it into Predecessor.
After a successful closed beta phase, Predecessor is scheduled to launch on March 28, welcoming players on PC, Xbox Series X|S/One, and PlayStation 4/5 to enjoy its fast-paced and strategic gameplay. The game will be accessible for free on Steam, Epic Games Store, and respective console marketplaces.

Predecessor evolved from Paragon, a MOBA that ceased in 2018. Singh, a devoted Paragon player and content creator, founded Omeda Studios in 2020 to rejuvenate the MOBA genre with Predecessor. The game has already garnered interest with over 400,000 players participating in Steam Early Access and a closed beta on PlayStation.
In the open beta, two teams of five players will engage in fierce battles, selecting from a diverse lineup of more than 30 unique heroes. The goal is to defend their bases while jointly attacking the enemy team’s base. Players accumulate XP in battles to unlock and enhance abilities, with the additional aspect of acquiring gold to buy items for a competitive edge.
Predecessor stands out by merging MOBA fundamentals with third-person shooter/brawler mechanics, providing players with an immersive experience while emphasizing teamwork and strategy. The game is visually stunning, as the only MOBA created in Unreal Engine 5, ensuring high-resolution and high-fidelity graphics for both current and last-gen consoles.
Predecessor combines MOBA core gameplay with third-person shooter/brawler mechanics, offers a diverse roster of 30 heroes with distinct play styles, is built on Unreal Engine 5, and supports cross-platform play with friends.
Players can earn rewards, including custom skins, through in-game currency.
