The highly anticipated DreamLeague season 22 is just around the corner! In preparation for the tournament, we had the opportunity to chat with OG Wisper about teaming up with their new teammate, Timado.
Sophie McCarthy: I’d like to begin by learning about the process of joining OG. You’ve only been with the team since November, and we’ve already seen some success.
Can you tell us about the process of joining OG?
OG Wisper: Well, the process was quite organic. I don’t remember the exact details of how I joined OG, but Washi spoke with Alim, and before I knew it, Ceb approached me about joining the team to improve together. It was really that simple.
Sophie McCarthy: Yes, it seems like a natural progression. You and Ari joined around the same time, and since then, the team has won a couple of qualifiers.
How has your playstyle evolved since transitioning from your previous team to playing with OG?
OG Wisper: The major difference is the pace of play. In Europe, the style is faster compared to South America. The games are more action-packed, and there’s less time to focus solely on farming, which makes it more enjoyable for me.
Sophie McCarthy: There was a period of downtime for OG before you dived into competitions recently.
How do you spend that downtime?
OG Wisper: I spend most of my time playing Dota. It’s a daily routine for me. If I’m not playing pubs, I’m engaging in arcades like Atomic Wars or Overthrow with Ari or other teammates. It’s all about staying sharp and keeping the competitive spirit alive.
Do you always play off-lane in your pubs, or do you explore other roles as well?
OG Wisper: I do occasionally play mid. I particularly enjoy playing Tinker or Invoker. But when I’m in the mood for some fun, I like to mix things up and play Techies mid with Eblade, among other unconventional choices.
Sophie McCarthy: Is it safe to say that unconventional picks work better in high-level pubs? It’s interesting to hear about your preferences. Moving on to the upcoming DreamLeague, you are in Group A with Falcons, Gaimin Gladiators, and Azure.
If you could choose your first opponent, who would it be?
OG Wisper: Perhaps Heoric. I have a friendly rivalry with kaffs, their coach, and it would be fun to play against my friends once again. It adds an extra element of excitement to the game knowing that familiar faces are on the other side of the battlefield.
Sophie McCarthy: Interesting rivalry there. With little time left to prepare for DreamLeague, have you been boot camping?
How have you been preparing for the tournament?
OG Wisper: No, we’re not boot camping yet. I’m playing from home, and the rest of the team is in France. However, we plan to boot camp closer to the start of the season.
Sophie McCarthy: Finally, we’ve heard that you won’t be the only South American player competing with OG at DreamLeague.
How are you preparing with Timado?
OG Wisper: When I first saw Timado in Discord, I was surprised and delighted. I’ve played with him before in my earlier days, and I’m really looking forward to teaming up with him again. It’s an exciting prospect.
