Strands is a fresh daily puzzle game offering a new challenge from the renowned New York Times. A more challenging version of the classic word search, it requires a sharp eye to crack the puzzle.
Similar to games like Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, solving Strands can be tough on some days. If you find yourself stuck and in need of answers for today’s Strands puzzle, you can refer to the solved puzzle below.
How to play Strands
To begin, you must identify the “theme words” hidden within the grid of letters in every Strands puzzle. Manipulate the letters by dragging or tapping to form words; double-tap the last letter to confirm. Correct words will be highlighted in blue and no longer selectable.
Even if you find a word that’s not a theme word, it’s still beneficial! For every three non-theme words of at least four letters in length, you’ll receive a hint – the letters of one of the theme words will be revealed for unscrambling.
All letters on the grid are used to spell out the theme words without overlap. Each letter is used once, and only once.
Every puzzle includes a “spangram,” a unique theme word (or words) that describes the puzzle’s theme and touches two opposite sides of the board. When you locate the spangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.
The objective is to solve the puzzle quickly without relying heavily on hints.
