Introducing Strands, a fresh daily puzzle from the renowned New York Times. A more challenging version of the traditional word search, this puzzle requires a sharp eye and keen observation skills to crack.
Similar to popular puzzles like Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can present a tough challenge on certain days. Don’t hesitate to seek assistance if you find yourself stuck. Explore the solved puzzle below for today’s Strands answers.
How to play Strands
To begin a Strands puzzle, your objective is to uncover the “theme words” concealed within the grid of letters. Rearrange letters by dragging or tapping to form words; double-tap the final letter to confirm. Correct words will be highlighted in blue and become unselectable.
Even if you discover a word that isn’t a theme word, it still contributes to your progress. For every three non-theme words of at least four letters each, you’ll receive a hint – revealing the letters of one of the theme words for you to unscramble.
Every letter in the grid is utilized to spell the theme words without any overlap. Each letter is used once and only once.
Each puzzle features a “spangram,” a unique theme word (or words) that reflects the puzzle’s theme and spans two opposite sides of the board. When you identify the spangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.
The aim is to complete the puzzle swiftly with minimal hints.
