Strands is an exciting new daily puzzle introduced by the renowned New York Times. A more challenging version of the traditional word search, this puzzle requires a sharp eye and linguistic skills to crack.
Similar to Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can sometimes prove difficult to solve. There’s no harm in seeking a little assistance when needed. If you find yourself stuck and in need of today’s Strands puzzle answers, take a look at the solved puzzle below.
How to play Strands
Each Strands puzzle begins with the quest to uncover the hidden “theme words” within the grid of letters. You can manipulate the letters by dragging or tapping to form words, and double-tap the last letter to confirm. The correct word will be highlighted in blue and no longer selectable once found.
Finding non-theme words also benefits you. For every three non-theme words of at least four letters each, you’ll receive a hint — the letters of one of the theme words will be revealed for unscrambling.
Every letter on the grid is utilized to spell out the theme words without any repetition. Each letter is used exactly once.
Each puzzle includes a “spangram,” a unique theme word(s) that describes the puzzle’s theme and spans two opposite sides of the board. Once you find the spangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.
The aim is to complete the puzzle promptly with minimal hints.
